TBT: FFECON2018

In November we had a brilliant time at the FinTrail FFE Conference at Huckletree West in London.

Disruptive Perspectives on Financial Crime

Posted by: Rebecca Nixon

The FFE (Fintech Fincrime Exchange) Conference 2018: Disruptive Perspectives on Financial Crime  invited anti-financial crime professionals to explore the constantly evolving world of financial crime and to discover how FinTechs are shifting perspectives and influencing industry disruption.

With Alex pitching in the Disruptors Den, Donald sharing on the CEO panel, and Rebecca & Oli manning the stand, a strong PassFort presence was definitely felt at FFECON 2018!

Our CEO, Donald Gillies, sharing his views on how to best tackle the limitations of compliance technology.

This unique event was an immersive experience, where we got up close and personal with survivors of financial criminal activity, bringing to life the real cost of financial crime and connecting us to why our work matters. Day-to-day, it's easy to forget what we're working towards. Events like this remind us of the importance of compliance, and that everyday people feel the effects of our choices.

We enjoyed the opportunity to share what we've learned at PassFort and interact with our peers, encouraging collaboration and sharing our views on how to deploy best practices. By broadening the perspectives of anti-financial crime professionals and offering the space for exchange, the conference provided resources for delegates to adapt to the future needs of our industry.

FFECON18 - Session 5 Still001The CEO Panel included Ollie Purdue from Loot - a client of ours! - as well as Tom Blomfield from Monzo, and Shefali Roy.

By working together, FFE members help to strengthen our sector’s ability to detect and counter the global threat of financial crime, including money laundering, terrorist financing, bribery and corruption and tax evasion.
